Terms of Use
Last updated: 5 October 2026
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Romeo With A Dumbbell, contact@romeolifts.com (“we”, “us”), for your use of the Romeo With A Dumbbell app (“the app”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and forms part of these terms.
2. Who can use the app
You must be at least 16 years old to use the app.
3. Your account
You may have one account for each email address. Your account is protected by access to your email, or to your Google or Apple account, so keep those secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has accessed it, contact us straight away.
4. What the app does
The app helps you record your training, plan it, and understand it. It can suggest weights, repetitions and programmes, and it offers observations about your training. These are estimates, worked out from what you have logged. They are information to help you make your own decisions, not instructions, and they can be wrong, particularly if what you have logged is incomplete or inaccurate.
5. Health and safety
Strength training carries a risk of injury. The app does not give medical advice, and it cannot see you, your technique or your health.
Speak to a doctor before starting or changing a training programme, especially if you have a medical condition or an injury, are pregnant, or have not trained for some time. Stop at once and seek advice if you feel pain, dizziness, shortness of breath or discomfort in your chest. You decide what to lift: use your own judgement, warm up properly, and use a spotter or safety equipment where appropriate. If you use the breathing exercises, practise them seated, never while driving or in water, and stop if you feel light-headed. If you have a heart or lung condition, speak to a doctor before using them.
6. Your data
Your training data belongs to you. You give us permission to store and process it only so that we can provide the app to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export your workouts at any time.
7. Backups
We work to keep your backups safe and available, but we cannot guarantee that data will never be lost. Information that stays on your phone, such as your templates and routines, is not backed up by us. Keep your own export of anything you cannot afford to lose.
8. Using the app fairly
You agree not to use the app for anything unlawful; not to try to access anyone else’s account or data; not to interfere with or overload our services; not to copy, decompile or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows you to; not to copy the app’s content, including its exercise library, text and artwork, for use elsewhere; and not to use the feedback feature to send abusive or unlawful messages.
9. Our content
The app, its design, artwork, text and exercise library belong to us or to those who license them to us. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store’s rules. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of the app to you.
10. Your suggestions
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them freely and without any obligation to you.
11. Paid features
If we offer paid features, they will be sold through Apple’s App Store and are subject to Apple’s terms as well as these. You manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings, and refunds are handled by Apple.
12. Changes to the app
We may change, suspend or stop any part of the app. Where a change significantly affects you, we will try to give you reasonable notice. If we ever close the service, we will give you reasonable notice so that you can export your data first.
13. Ending your use
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account if it is used in serious breach of these terms, and where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you first.
14. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit or exclude. Nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you started using the app, or for any business losses. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of £50 and the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
15. Terms for the App Store version
These terms are between you and us, not Apple, and we, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content. Your licence to use the app is limited to use on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store’s Usage Rules. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, that you paid for it. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation in relation to the app. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws. If anyone claims that the app infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending and settling that claim.
You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a United States government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, once you accept them, may enforce them against you.
16. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country, and you may bring a claim in your local courts.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you continue to use the app after that, the new terms apply.
